Biography and Qualifications
Ben is a globally recognised leader in his field of cataract and laser refractive surgery, demonstrated by his 2023 and 2024 Power List selections by The Ophthalmologist Magazine of the top 100 most influential people in the eye world globally.
Ben is an experienced ophthalmic surgeon with subspecialty training in refractive surgery. He is also deeply involved in educating and connecting with his peer network both locally and around the world.
He is currently practicing privately at Adelaide Eye & Laser Centre as well as seeing public patients at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Ben remains committed to learning and research and is frequently invited to speak on ophthalmic topics including cataract and refractive surgery worldwide as well as holding the position of Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Adelaide. Ben is also involved in a number of education initiatives including the advanced trainee day at the Australian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery congress, and is the host of a number of popular ophthalmic podcasts.
